Ghanaian man discovers abandoned baby in plastic bag

A tragic case of child abandonment has left many in shock after a Ghanaian man, Ofori Zion, discovered a newborn baby inside a plastic bag in the early hours of the morning.

Ofori, who was walking through his neighborhood at the time, said he was terrified at first but quickly overcame his fear and rushed the baby to a nearby health center for immediate treatment. Medical staff did their best to stabilize the infant, but due to the baby’s fragile condition, a referral was made to the Bibiani Government Hospital for advanced care.

Unfortunately, the baby could not be saved and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Further investigation led to the identification of the mother, a Nigerian woman who lived within the same community. She was arrested, tried in court, and eventually deported to Nigeria after being found guilty of child endangerment.

The heartbreaking incident has drawn nationwide attention, with many commending Ofori for his swift action and courage. The story has also reignited public concern over the growing cases of child abandonment and the urgent need for stronger social intervention systems.

The abandoned baby in a plastic bag discovery serves as a chilling reminder of the dangers vulnerable children face and the importance of community vigilance.
