A 31-year-old man in Zomba, Mumuderanji Kayere, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for defiling a 4-month old baby.
Senior Resident Magistrate Rodrick Michongwe said he run out of the best words to express the behavior of the convict considering the age difference and what he really wanted from a 4- month old baby.
Kayere, who until his conviction pleaded not guilty to the charge, told the court that he was drunk on the day of the incident.
He told the court that he could not remember if he really defiled the child.
Kayere said he only remembered taking the child from her mother’s care before proceeding with her to his house.
