MC Portfolio defending Guru during his show on Angel FM

Media personality MC Portfolio has come to the defense of Ghanaian musician Guru, describing him as one of the most dedicated leaders the University of Ghana, Legon, has ever had.

Speaking on his show on Angel FM, MC Portfolio revealed that Guru went through numerous challenges to ensure that the university’s SRC Artiste Night became one of the most successful campus events ever organized.

According to him, Guru’s commitment as SRC president was evident in how he managed to pull big-name acts like Sarkodie and other top Ghanaian musicians to perform, giving students a night to remember.

MC Portfolio dismissed allegations suggesting that Guru organized the event for personal benefit, explaining that the musician’s intentions were purely to create a memorable experience for students. “Guru only wanted the best for the students, not himself,” he stated.

His defense follows Guru’s recent TikTok live session, where the rapper expressed frustration over claims that he had embezzled SRC funds. Guru clarified that the budget initially proposed by the students was far below what was required for such a high-profile show.

The “Lapaz Toyota” hitmaker disclosed that he had to use his personal resources to pay some of the A-list artistes, including Sarkodie, to make the event a success. He added that the rumors being spread were baseless and unfair to the efforts he put into making the event possible.

MC Portfolio concluded that it took immense dedication and sacrifice for Guru to organize such a large-scale event, stressing that the accusations leveled against him hold no truth. He described Guru’s actions as a selfless act of leadership that should be commended rather than condemned.
