Medikal Slammed for Groping Fan on Stage; Advocate Calls It Sexual Harassment

Ghanaian rapper Medikal is under fire following a viral video showing him appearing to touch a female fan’s buttocks during a recent stage performance. The footage, which has sparked widespread outrage online, shows the rapper engaging in the act mid-performance, leaving fans and critics divided over the appropriateness of his conduct.

The incident has drawn sharp criticism from several quarters, with content creator and women’s advocate Nana Jebi condemning the act as sexual harassment.

He argued that public figures must be held accountable for their actions, especially when they involve non-consensual physical contact in front of an audience. Nana Jebi emphasized that such behaviour reinforces a culture where women’s bodies are treated as props for entertainment.

Adding to the controversy, Nana Jebi also pointed to what he described as a troubling shift in Medikal’s public persona, attributing it to his increasingly close association with dancehall artist Shatta Wale. She claimed the rapper’s recent behaviour reflects a pattern of adopting antics that prioritize shock value and controversy over respect and responsibility.

As the debate continues online, calls are growing for artists to show more discipline and respect for personal boundaries while on stage. Many are urging Medikal to apologize publicly and use his platform to promote responsible performance conduct moving forward. The incident has once again highlighted ongoing concerns about sexual misconduct and artist accountability in Ghana’s entertainment industry.
