he Minority in Parliament has called on the government to take immediate and decisive action in response to a surge in COVID-19 cases at the University of Ghana, Legon.

Raising the issue on the floor of Parliament on Friday, Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh warned that any delay in addressing the situation could lead to a full-blown health crisis on campus and beyond.

Describing the outbreak as “spiralling out of control,” the Nsawam-Adoagyire MP urged the House to summon the Minister of Health without delay.

“We don’t want to go through what the country went through some time back. Let’s make hay while the sun shines. I place this call right in front of the respected Leader of the House—we need the Minister here now to do the needful,” Annoh-Dompreh stressed.
