The Member of Parliament for Jomoro constituency in the western Region Hon. Paul Essien who also double as the Deputy Minister for religious and chieftaincy affairs together with Hon. Ernest Kwofie (MCE for Jomoro) and Jomoro NPP constituency Chairman Mr. Simon Amoah together with other party executives today donated a brand new ambulance to Elubo health center. The MP donated a brand new Ambulance fitted with accessories to the Elubo health centre.
Hon. Paul Essien made the donation at the premises of the health center at Elubo, as part of his efforts to uplift health care in his constituency.
Addressing the gathering made up of few health officials, Mr Essien indicated that the ambulance was urgently needed considering the numerous challenges of referrals at the health centre.
Quoting the popular adage that ‘health is
wealth’ Mr. Essien said he will do everything within his capacity as an MP to lessen the
burden of his constituents in accessing quality
health care.
“I know there are other equally important
challenges of this health center especially on the
part of our mother’s who go to deliver, this is just the beginning and hopefully by the end of this year, more support will come,” he stated.
The municipal health director of Jomoro, Kwame Samson said the health facility is currently providing services to over 41,000 people in the elubo community and it environs.

He applauded the MP and the MCE for their timely intervention which will help them refer
emergency cases on time for further medical attention.
On his part, the Jomoro municipal chief executive
Mr. Ernest Kwofie appealed to the people to make good use of the ambulance to serve
the intended purpose.
He said government last year procured a total of 250 ambulances for all District health facilities across the country which has been distributed nationwide this year, “but Jomoro is counted among the luckiest to have two ambulances because of it vastness, currently one placed in Half-Assini hospital respectively he added.
He said, “the launch of the drone medical
delivery service and other interventions in the health sector by the NPP government will go a long way to ameliorate development in the Jomoro municipality”.
The Jomoro municipal Chief Executive Mr. Ernest Kwofie admonished the people to embrace good sanitation practices especially in tackling the menace of COVID-19 pandemic.
He advised the people to keep observing the President’s protocols layered down to curb this COVID-19 virus pandemic by washing of hands with soap under running water regularly, using of alcohol based hand sanitizers observing social distance and finally staying at home.
He also congratulated the good work of the health professionals in the municipality and urged them to work tirelessly in the constituency although the NPP government lead by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is doing its best to enhance the living conditions of nurses and relative health care professionals in the fight against the current pandemic COVID-19 but their highest reward await them in heaven he stated.
