Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak confirms nationwide security recruitment will be merit-based and transparent, warns against scams and early selection claims.

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has assured the public that the upcoming nationwide security services recruitment exercise will be conducted on a strictly merit-based and transparent basis.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, November 14, Mr. Mubarak dismissed claims that the selection process had already begun, describing such reports as false. He emphasised that under President John Dramani Mahama, no preferential treatment or early selection would occur.

“Nothing has started. Nobody in this Service will call, and nobody will tell you that there is another route to get into this recruitment,” he said.

Addressing concerns over potential scams, Mubarak urged applicants to be vigilant and report anyone claiming they can guarantee selection for money. Official channels will be created to lodge complaints, and any evidence provided will be tracked and acted upon.

The Minister reiterated that only qualified candidates will be selected based on merit, and any attempts to circumvent the process will face strict consequences. Applicants are advised to rely solely on official communications.

The recruitment exercise, covering the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service, will now begin on Monday, November 17, instead of Saturday.
