Frimpong“When growing up I used to listen to a lot of Daddy Lumba songs at home. Besides I also listened to Kojo Antwi, Ofori Amponsah, K.K Fosu and I listened a lot to those highlife legends,” he remarked.
KiDi made these revelations when he was asked about what inspired his style of music and the kind of musicians he was listening to when growing up during an exclusive interview with Kastle FM’s Amansan Krakye monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
He answered on Kastle Drive that “As for me growing up in my house my dad used to listen to Daddy Lumba’s song a lot. My dad is a number one Daddy Lumba fan and he doesn’t joke with his songs at all.”
‘Say cheese’ hitmaker, KiDi aka sugar daddy said that apart from the local highlife legends, he used to also listen to a lot of foreign music icons and that’s what influenced his quest to sing using the English language.
“Although I did also listen to some of the foreign music icons in addition. That’s why I do sing a lot in English in addition to the Twi language as well so I was influenced by all these people,” he concluded.
