National Security Council pays tribute to helicopter crash victims at state burial.

The National Security Council Secretariat has expressed its deep sorrow following the tragic helicopter crash of August 6 that claimed the lives of Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed, and seven other public servants.

During a solemn state burial held at the Black Star Square on Friday, August 15, the Council delivered a heartfelt tribute, noting that the loss had created a permanent void in Ghana’s history.

“On behalf of the National Security Coordinator, senior management and the entire staff of the National Security Council Secretariat and its agencies, I offer my condolences to the families of our colleagues and comrades who tragically left us on Wednesday, August 6,” the statement read.

The Secretariat described the passing of the eight officials as a national tragedy, adding that their individual contributions to development were both inspiring and unforgettable.

“Indeed, we at the Secretariat are yet to come to terms with this tragedy. The vacuum created by the loss will forever be etched in Ghana’s history. The individual achievements and contributions to national development are visibly compelling and exemplary,” it said.

Special recognition was given to the late Alhaji Mohammed for his humility, dedication, and passion for public service.

“The Secretariat remains inspired by the legacy of humility, dedication, and service of Mohammed Muniru Limuna, the late Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator in charge of Human Security, and commits to carrying on with his quest for a safer, just, and resilient Ghana. His time with us was very brief, but his vision will endure for years to come,” the tribute added.

The Council emphasized that all eight victims should be remembered as true patriots who dedicated their lives to Ghana’s security and progress.

“Today, we are very clear in our minds that he and the seven other heroes served Ghana to the end. Undoubtedly, though no longer with us, we are assured that their work has and will contribute to the President’s drive to enhance national security and the overall reset agenda of Ghana,” it stated.

The tribute concluded with a prayer for peace and comfort for the bereaved families. “This morning, our prayer is that the Almighty God, the Creator of the universe, grant their souls peace and a restful place in eternity. We wish the families peace, comfort, and true grace in these difficult times. Fare thee well, our eight heroes.”
