The Member of Parliament for Twifo-Atti-Morkwa, David Theophilus D. Vondee, has appealed to Ghanaians to rally behind the National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the party as one that prioritises meaningful and sustainable development.
Speaking during a sod-cutting ceremony for a new batch of constituency projects, Mr. Vondee highlighted what he called the “visible progress” the NDC has delivered in the Twifo-Atti-Morkwa area. These, he said, include improved access to potable water, enhanced school infrastructure, and the establishment of several Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds.
He also noted that under the NDC administration, the national economy had been better managed, emphasising that the Ghanaian cedi performed more strongly against the US dollar during the party’s tenure.
The latest projects, undertaken jointly with the District Chief Executive, Isaac Yawson, encompass a mechanised borehole at Twifo Akweakurom, a six-unit classroom block at Twifo Aboso, a CHPS compound at Twifo Merekukrom, and another mechanised borehole at Otuano Camp.
Mr. Vondee urged Ghanaians to continue supporting the NDC, claiming that the party remains focused on solving problems rather than creating them—contrary to what he described as the New Patriotic Party’s record of corruption, mismanagement, and unnecessary distractions.
DCE Isaac Yawson assured community members that all ongoing projects would be completed within schedule. He also encouraged government appointees to abide by President John Dramani Mahama’s directive to finish all abandoned projects.
Some residents who have not yet benefited from similar developments appealed to the MP and the DCE to extend such interventions to their areas, while reminding them of the promises delivered during the sod-cutting exercise.
