Former Central Regional Chairman of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has said he will be very much surprise if the Flag Bearer of his party is able to win this year’s polls.
“Looking at the situation at the ground at this very moment, I’ll be very much surprise if Mahama wins 2020 elections”.
According to Chairman Allotey, it will be very difficult for the NDC party this year looking at how the Party Executives are presenting NDC to Ghanaians.
The social Commentator as he preferred to be called in an interview monitored by adwoaadubianews.com, noted that the executives of the Party instead of putting the party to the grass-roots when they had the opportunity they were happily doing demonstrations.
“When they had the opportunity to put the party to the grass-roots, they were doing demonstrations.”
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen political talk show, Allotey Jacobs who has been suspended by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the NDC party said, the current crop of leaders within his party are not committed in securing a second term for Mahama and that is his worry.
He believes that the NPP has designed various strategies that will keep them in power for long.
“When they (NDC) had their chance, they messed up…don’t take NPP for a joke…,” he said.
The sidelining of NDC founder, Jerry John Rawlings from the activities of the party, Allotey believes would affect the chances of the NDC in the 2020 elections.
“If they are building the party, I will see it and you can’t build the party without the founder…,” he said.
