Though, this is quite obvious, but the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has also revealed that the reason why the National Democratic Congress (NDC) always choose their running mate from the Central Region is only for votes and not to develop the region.
Adwoaadubianews.com reported that he said: “NDC chooses their running mates from Central Region only for votes and not for development. They think those along the coast are not civilized but they are. For about 57 years now it is NPP that has provided the people of Central Region with 6 landing sites even though Akufo-Addo didn’t pick his running mate from the Central Region.” He disclosed in an interview.
It is worthy to note that apart from Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang who has been chosen to be the running mate for the NDC, they’ve also gotten Kow Nkensen Arkaah, Prof. J. E. A Mills and Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur all coming from the Central Region in the past.
He continued “So as for NDC they only pick those from Central Region and just use them. Even the stadium I will challenge them that it was former president Kufour who started it and the contractor was known as Nana Yaw. When NDC came they took the contract from him and one guy from Poland which ended up in court. Today NDC pride themselves that they started the Cape Coast stadium which is a blatant lie”
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong was speaking at the University of Cape Coast monitored by adwoaadubianews.com Amansan Krakye during the NPP Manifesto launch and tasked the people of Central Region to vote massively for the party.

“I want NDC to show what specifically have they done for the people in the Central Region which makes them feel that the people must vote for them. It was Kufour who did the Accra to Yamoransa road for the people of Central Region. We have shown that even if NPP doesn’t choose our running mate from Central Region we develop the region better than the NDC so we deserve to win all the 23 parliamentary seats in the region.”
