The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asked the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to prudently channel resources and time spent on tracking the NPP’s manifesto promise to crafting their campaign message for the 2020 elections.
The NDC spending over four hours of the party’s time on the tracking of the NPP’s manifesto promises of the NPP, should have been channelled into finding a suitable running mate to partner the once defeated flag bearer ex-president John Dramani Mahama.
According to the NPP, with only six months into the December 7, the NDC has not been able to find a suitable candidate to march the economic the prowess of the Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia but rather channelling resources into irrelevant matters of no concerns to the ordinary Ghanaian.
The NDC as a serious political party should have been able to craft a campaign message and nominate a running mate to veer into the economic the debate of the sitting Vice President.
The NPP Member of Parliament(MP) for Secondi Constituency in the Western Region, Andrew Egyapa Mercer gave this twist to the NDC’s claims on the failed promises of the NPP, speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM’s afternoon programme hosted by Phillip Osei Bonsu.
He asked the NDC to benchmark their performance in government with the performance of the NPP in government over the past four years.
He revealed that the NPP has delivered seventeen commitments under it’s Agriculture promises in spite of the fact that the total NPP manifesto promises on Agriculture were twenty-two.
He reminded the NDC to take a cursory look at the presentation made by the Vice President on the achievements of the party in government.
The NPP’s achievement is plain and is in black and white, if the NDC is not myopic and living in chicanery to say the least he stressed.
If the NDC wants to do a content analysis of the NPP’s manifesto promises, it should go on the right tandem and not hiding behind a flawed analysis he said.
