Dr Maame Aba Dadzie, Chairperson of the USA Chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has highlighted Ghana’s improving global reputation under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
She stated that Ghana’s economy, once viewed as being in crisis, is now widely seen as being on the path to recovery, a change she attributes to pragmatic governance and inclusive leadership.
Speaking during the NDC-USA annual conference and victory celebration, Dr Dadzie commended the Mahama-led administration for quickly laying a foundation for economic recovery.
“The global perception of Ghana has shifted, from a crisis economy to one showing signs of steady recovery. This is no coincidence. It is the Mahama doctrine of inclusion, competent leadership, and effective governance in action,” she said.
According to her, the first few months of the Mahama administration have already seen significant improvement in the country’s economic indicators.
She pointed out that the Ghanaian cedi, previously struggling, is now stabilising against major international currencies due to sound economic policies. “The cedi, which was once on life support, is now gaining strength,” Dr Dadzie declared.
She further noted that inflation and interest rates are also moving in a positive direction, crediting these improvements to the Mahama government’s effective economic strategy. “The current administration is not one for empty slogans. It is a government of action and results,” she added.
Dr Dadzie also called on NDC supporters in the diaspora to conduct themselves with discipline, especially in their interactions on social media. “Let us be measured in our conduct. We represent a cause greater than ourselves,” she urged.
She encouraged members of the NDC to maintain unity and resolve internal conflicts respectfully to ensure continued progress.
“When we stand together, no force can stop us. We may not always agree, but we must not destroy our own house. Let us treat one another with mutual respect and dignity,” she said.
Elikem Kotoko, the NDC’s Deputy National Organiser, also addressed the gathering. He assured attendees that the Mahama administration is fully committed to addressing Ghana’s economic and social challenges. He emphasized that current government policies are designed to deliver real solutions and improve the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.
