National Youth Organiser of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) Henry Nana Boakye has charged the youth of the party to go all out to mobilise and sensitize many more people to register in the upcoming voter registration exercise.

National Youth Organiser of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) Henry Nana Boakye has charged the youth of the party to go all out to mobilise and sensitize many more people to register in the upcoming voter registration exercise.
His call comes at the back of a contentious decision by the Electoral Commission of Ghana to compile a new voters’ register in the later part of June 2020.
Though the decision of the EC has been met with heavy criticism and opposition by the opposition National Democratic Congress, Civil Society Organisations and a section of Ghanaians, the election management body had forcefully stated its resolve to proceed with the exercise.
In a statement seen by Adwoa Adubia News, the youth leader of the NPP intimated that the compilation of a new register is the first step towards the consolidation of victory for the party later in December this year.
“This is the first major step towards victory 2020 that will consolidate the government’s achievements relative to the successful implementation of far-reaching youth-focused policies like the Free SHS, Restoration of Nurses and Teacher Trainees Allowances, accelerated job creation in all sectors, Infrastructure for Youth Development, Functioning Scholarship schemes and so forth,” he wrote.
