Newlywed Couple Dies in Road Crash Hours After Wedding at Gurugu

A newly married couple has tragically lost their lives in a fatal road accident at Gurugu, near Tamale, shortly after celebrating their wedding ceremony.

The heartbreaking incident occurred on Sunday, June 23, while the couple was riding a motorbike to visit family members following their nuptials. Eyewitnesses say the joy of their union was cut short when their motorbike collided with an oncoming vehicle.

The bride reportedly died instantly at the scene of the crash. Her husband, who sustained severe injuries, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.

Residents of Gurugu have been left in shock and mourning, with many describing the tragedy as a devastating blow to the community.

Authorities say investigations have commenced to determine the exact cause of the collision. Meanwhile, the bodies of the couple have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue.
