NSA Launches E-Certificates for National Service Personnel Nationwide

The National Service Authority (NSA) has officially rolled out electronic certificates (e-certificates) for National Service Personnel, marking a major step in the digitisation of its operations. The announcement was made in a press statement issued on Thursday, January 29.

According to the Authority, all eligible National Service Personnel can now access their e-certificates through the NSA portal at posting.gnsa.gov.gh/home/certificate-service, in line with the approved procedures outlined on the platform. The initiative is designed to provide a faster, more convenient way for personnel to obtain proof of service.

The NSA explained that past National Service Personnel who need a reprint of their physical certificates or wish to obtain an electronic version can also apply instantly via the portal. The service is available at a prescribed fee and is strictly optional, not a mandatory requirement.

In addition to the launch of e-certificates, the Authority announced that Annual Evaluation Forms for the 2024/2025 service year have been uploaded onto the NSA portal. All personnel in the current service batch have been directed to download, complete, and submit the duly endorsed forms to their respective District National Service Offices.

The Authority clarified that personnel serving in the 2024/2025 service year will only be able to access their e-certificates after their Annual Evaluation Forms have been submitted and approved.

Procedure for Accessing the E-Certificate

To obtain an e-certificate, applicants are required to submit an online request using their National Service Scheme (NSS) details and await approval, which may take up to five working days. Once approved, applicants will receive a notification via SMS or email.

Applicants must then make payment, complete an identity verification process using their Ghana Card details, and take a live facial photograph with their device’s camera. After successful verification, the e-certificate can be downloaded directly from the portal. The NSA noted that all steps are clearly explained on the certificate service page to ensure a smooth and user-friendly process.

The Authority has encouraged both current and past National Service Personnel to carefully follow the outlined procedures to avoid delays. It also called on institutions and stakeholders to fully recognise and accept e-certificates issued by the NSA, adding that organisations requiring further verification may contact the Authority through its official channels.

Reaffirming its commitment to innovation, the National Service Authority said the introduction of e-certificates forms part of broader efforts to leverage digital solutions to improve efficiency, service delivery, and convenience for all stakeholders.
