Rev John Ntim Fordjour urges stronger resourcing for Ghana’s Armed Forces and security agencies to tackle terrorism, cybercrime, and illegal mining.

Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, Rev John Ntim Fordjour, is urging the government to scale up investment in Ghana’s security sector to address growing national threats.

Speaking in a media interview on Monday, the Assin South MP noted that the nation faces complex challenges such as terrorism, cybercrime, cross-border criminal activities, and illegal mining.

He explained that these issues cannot be effectively addressed without well-equipped security agencies.

“This is not about political colours; it is about the survival of our country,” Rev Fordjour remarked, stressing the need for a united national approach to protect citizens.

He argued that consistent funding for the Ghana Armed Forces, Police Service, Immigration Service, and other allied agencies is critical to maintaining peace and stability.

The MP further assured of his readiness to support all initiatives that strengthen the country’s defence institutions. “On this matter, I will lend my voice and support to every policy or action that equips our men and women in uniform. Their strength and preparedness are directly tied to Ghana’s peace and prosperity,” he concluded.
