Old video shows fan blasting Ghanaian media for ignoring Apostle Safo’s inventions

An old video of a passionate admirer of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka has resurfaced online, sparking heated discussions. In the clip, the man accused Ghanaian media houses of deliberately refusing to showcase Apostle Safo’s groundbreaking inventions during his lifetime.

According to the fan, Apostle Safo’s numerous innovations, ranging from locally assembled vehicles and aircraft prototypes to robotics and advanced machinery, were ignored by the mainstream media. He argued that the lack of national coverage robbed the Apostle of the recognition he deserved as one of Africa’s greatest inventors.

Expressing his anger, the admirer accused the media of hypocrisy, warning that it would be an insult if those same stations decided to cover Apostle Safo’s funeral. He went further to invoke curses, declaring that calamity would strike any television station that chose to broadcast the funeral after sidelining the Apostle’s work for years.

The resurfaced video has reignited debate about how Ghana valued Apostle Safo’s contributions. Known as “The Star of Africa,” he was a visionary leader whose Kantanka Automobile Company and other inventions symbolised Africa’s ability to compete with global industrial powers. His creations were not only technological feats but also a bold statement of African self-reliance.

Supporters of the Apostle argue that, despite his genius, recognition from local institutions, particularly the media, was inconsistent. Many share the sentiments of the man in the video, insisting that Apostle Safo’s legacy should have been celebrated much more while he was alive.

As Ghanaians continue to mourn his passing, the old video serves as both a reminder of the frustrations felt by his admirers and a renewed call to honour his memory by embracing African innovation. Apostle Safo’s legacy endures as a source of pride and inspiration for generations to come.
