Only bad people think of others as bad; stop attacking Akufo-Addo, EC boss – Nunoo-Mensah to NDC

Former National Security Advisor to the late Prof. Atta Mills, Brigadier General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah has chastised the National Democratic Congress for its relentless attacks on President Akufo-Addo as well as EC Chair, Jean Mensa.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo has no plans of destroying the country as portrayed by the NDC so he doesn’t understand the hullabaloo surrounding the EC’s decision to go ahead with the registration exercise.

He believes the NDC is only set out to cause confusion stating that “the people have already intended to be troublesome and it’s bad. It’s sad.”

The former Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces said President Akufo-Addo won’t jeopardize the peace of this country by taking decisions that will hinder the progress of the nation.

According to him, “Akufo-Addo is not going to do anything which will harm Ghana. So why should the NDC fight him over a new voters’ register? I don’t think Akufo-Addo will intentionally do anything that will harm the country. Isn’t President Akufo-Addo Ghanaian? Everything he does NDC will oppose, what kind of government is this? We should change and think of Ghana.”

“How is voters’ register a source of tension…why should I raise hell over it?” He quizzed.

Nunoo-Mensah advised that “We need to stop it. If you are a bad person, you suspect every other person is also bad . . . we should think Ghana first.”

Defending the EC boss, the former National Security Advisor admonished both the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress to stop creating problems that might ruin the peace the country has enjoyed over the years.

He urged both parties to support the EC boss in her work and think about the country first.

“Jean Mensa is a wonderful lady. The problem in Ghana is that we keep on creating problems for people. I don’t understand,” he disclosed.
