Prostitution banned in the Northern region

The Northern Regional security council, chaired by the regional minister, Salifu Saeed has banned prostitution in the region. He made this known to the public in a press briefing on Wednesday.

The order is key in the fight to curb COVID-19 virus in the region. Speaking to the media, the regional minister said that some of the COVID-19 patients are commercial sex workers.

” If you look at the confirmed victims of corona virus, some of them are prostitutes, they have been fished out from their locations and I am using it as a basis to ban prostitution in the northern region” He stressed.

As at 2nd April, 2020 Ghana’s cases of COVID-19 stands at one hundred and ninety-five (195) with five (5) deaths and thirty-one (31) recoveries.
