FrimpongThe Northern Regional security council, chaired by the regional minister, Salifu Saeed has banned prostitution in the region. He made this known to the public in a press briefing on Wednesday.
The order is key in the fight to curb COVID-19 virus in the region. Speaking to the media, the regional minister said that some of the COVID-19 patients are commercial sex workers.
” If you look at the confirmed victims of corona virus, some of them are prostitutes, they have been fished out from their locations and I am using it as a basis to ban prostitution in the northern region” He stressed.
As at 2nd April, 2020 Ghana’s cases of COVID-19 stands at one hundred and ninety-five (195) with five (5) deaths and thirty-one (31) recoveries.
