President Akufo-Addo on Friday paid a visit to the Ridge residence of the former First lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, to commiserate with her and the family on the death of the former President of the country, Jerry John Rawlings.
Rawlings, the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) NDC and the first President of the Fourth Republic died on Thursday, 12 November 2020, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where he was receiving treatment, after a short illness.



In a statement Thursday announcing the death of the former President to Ghanaians, Akufo-Addo how the death of Rawlings “made Ghana poorer.”




“A great tree has fallen, and Ghana is poorer for this loss,” the President added.
