Rev. Nana Yaa Prempeh has advised young people to avoid borrowing money in order to get married. Speaking in an interview on JoyPrime, the revered minister cautioned that extravagant weddings funded by loans often lead to financial stress and regret shortly after the celebrations end.

She expressed concern over the growing fear among young people when it comes to marriage, attributing it largely to the rising cost of modern wedding ceremonies. According to her, the pressure to impress with glamorous events is discouraging many from taking the bold step toward marriage.

The preacher encouraged the youth to prioritize financial discipline and proper preparation over public spectacle. She stressed that marriage is a lifetime commitment, and starting it with debt could place an unnecessary burden on the relationship.

Rev. Prempeh further urged couples to embrace simplicity by organizing marriage ceremonies within their means. Her statement, “don’t borrow to marry,” serves as a reminder that a modest, well-planned wedding is far better than a lavish one followed by the stress of repaying debts.
