The Greater Accra Regional Hospital has launched an investigation into the death of the wife of GIL Director.
Dr. Emmanuel Kuto, the Director of the Ghana Institute of Languages yesterday, 26th June 2020, painfully narrated how a wrong drug prescribtion by a doctor led to the death of his wife at the Greater Accra Ridge Hospital on Facebook.
In response to the said allegations, Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Emmanuel Srofenyoh in a statement on Friday described the incident as ‘unfortunate’ while assuring that the hospital is inquiring into what may have caused the death of the patient.
“The Management of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital’s attention has been drawn to a Facebook post making the rounds in the media alleging an unfortunate incident leading to the death of a patient in the hospital.
“Management will like to assure the public that, with a matter of urgency, an investigation has been launched into this unfortunate incident in order to establish events leading to the sad situation. The findings of the investigation would be shared with all stakeholders,” excerpts of the hospital’s statement read.
The statement added, “the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Ridge practices an open-door policy and we encourage our Clients to report any misgivings or seek clarity on any clinical procedure with the Customer Service or Public Relations Unit for proper Management response.”
