Opinionated Ghanaian journalist Bridget Otoo has no iota of sympathy towards the woes of the Second Lady Samira Bawumia.
The Second Lady has come under public scrutiny since the Emoluments Committee approved salaries for the spouses of the president and his vice.
The First and Second Ladies were forced to reject these allowances following the heavy backlash from Ghanaians. This also sparked conversations about the actual impact these women have made with their positions.
Many have accused the second lady of doing nothing but parade in one Pistis gown or the other with a face burdened with makeup, amongst a whole host of criticisms.
According to Bridget Otoo, Madam Samira Bawumia deserves every bit of vitriol hurled in her direction. Her reason being that the Second Lady herself had no qualms raining insults on former President John Mahama in the wake of the 2016 elections.
Samira Bawumia is on record to have called the former president “useless and incompetent”. She went ahead to say later that she did not regret calling John Mahama names because she was just stating the facts.
Now the tables have turned and Mrs. Bawumia probably expects to be given a break, but according to Bridget Otoo, you get exactly what you give. Here’s what she posted on her Twitter handle:
“It is not right to insult the wife of the Veep but at the Peak of the 2016 campaign she insulted a sitting President
It makes it difficult to convince someone not to go hard at her except to appeal to them…
