A tragic accident occurred on Thursday at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) West Gate, where a speeding truck reportedly ran over two vehicles, a tricycle, and a pedestrian. Eyewitnesses say the incident happened during a busy hour, leaving multiple people feared dead.

The truck, which was reportedly descending from a hilly section of the road, is believed to have experienced brake failure. It crashed into the vehicles in front of it, including a commercial tricycle, before veering off the road and hitting a pedestrian. The force of the impact caused severe damage, leaving some victims trapped under the wreckage.

Emergency services arrived at the scene to transport the injured to the hospital. While officials have yet to confirm the number of fatalities, eyewitnesses described the accident as devastating, with several bodies seen lying motionless. The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed.

The incident has sparked concern among students, staff, and local residents, who are calling for improved road safety measures around the UCC campus. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
