African Dancehall King, Shatta Wale has become the first-ever Ghanaian musician to make it unto Barrack Obama’s Summer Playlist.
This comes after the dancehall musician’s Already song with Beyonce made the list of songs that the Obama family would be listening to this summer.
Obama revealed that list yesterday Monday 17th August 2020. He wrote:
“Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time listening to music with my family. I wanted to share some of my favorites from the summer –– including songs from some of the artists performing at this week’s @DemConvention,” he wrote on social media Monday (Aug. 17). “As always, it’s a mix of genres that travels through various eras. I think there’s something in here for everybody––hope you enjoy it.”

Our Nigerian brothers have made it there back-to-back. Talk of Rema, Wizkid, Burna Boy, among others.
But over the years since the former US president started revealing his summer playlist, no Ghanaian artistes ever made it unto the list. But this year 2020, Shatta Wale has gained a nod in the list.
Congrats to Shatta Wale for making Ghana and Africa proud!!!
