FrimpongA group of the world’s rarest species of gorillas with babies have been spotted in Nigeria for the first time ever. Seven Cross River gorillas were spotted with their infants at the Mbe Mountains Community Forest in Cross River by the wildlife concervation society in May and June.
According to the World Wide Fund for Nature, Cross River gorillas are the world’s rarest great ape and extremely wary of humans following a long history of maltreatment. Experts who spotted the gorillas stated that it is a positive sign for the breed and further revealed that their babies have never been caught on camera.
