State Attorney Takes Over Kennedy Agyapong’s Contempt Case

The Supreme Court (SC) has requested the Attorney General to assume control over the disdain case including the Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

This comes after Mr. Agyapong’s legal advisors on September 17, appealed to the peak court to stop Justice Wunter Wuni to continue with the body of evidence against their customer and furthermore to subdue all requests made by the appointed authority in that regard.

Appointee Attorney Godfred Yeboah Dame, who was in court when the SC provided the request, was approached to examine the testimony on record and to contend the case in court on Wednesday, October 14.

Mr Agyapong has been accused of hatred after supposedly annoying and undermining Justice Wuni.

The SC’s organization to the Attorney General on Tuesday, October 13 comes after key figures including US-based Ghanaian Professor Kwaku Asare required an adjustment in the manner and way in which hatred cases are taken care of in Ghana.

Educator Asare, for example, said instead of judges gathering contemnors to show up before them, the issue ought to be alluded to the Attorney General (AG) for ahead arraignment.
