A terrifying armed robbery at Assin Ntowkrom in the Assin North District has left a local gold buyer, Kwabena Amos, seriously injured and shaken after five assailants stormed his home around midnight. The attackers, armed with a pump-action gun and machetes, inflicted a deep wound and trauma to Amos’s right eye after striking him with a gun barrel.

During the violent encounter, Amos’s brother narrowly escaped a gunshot, a near miss the family attributes to divine intervention. The situation could have turned fatal but for the swift action of law enforcement.

Officers from the Central North Police Command responded promptly to a distress call, arriving at the scene and engaging the suspects in a gunfight. Their timely and tactical intervention led to the arrest of three of the armed men, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining two suspects.

Following the incident, Kwabena Amos expressed deep gratitude to the police for their courage and rapid response. Community members have also applauded the police for their decisive action and urged continued efforts to curb rising cases of armed robbery in the area.
