AdubianewsSuspected thieves have struck Twifo Nuamakrom in the Central Region, dismantling a power transformer and making away with critical components during the night. The brazen act has left the entire community without electricity, disrupting daily life and causing widespread concern among residents.
According to locals, the theft occurred under the cover of darkness, with no immediate witnesses or security presence to intervene. The stolen parts are believed to be essential elements of the transformer, making restoration of power impossible until replacements are provided. Residents have expressed frustration over the growing trend of infrastructure theft, which they say threatens their safety and livelihoods.
Officials from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) are expected to visit the site to assess the damage and begin recovery efforts. Meanwhile, community leaders are calling on authorities to intensify security measures and conduct thorough investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice.
