AdubianewsVice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has praised the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) for its adaptability in addressing emerging security challenges across the sub-region.
Delivering the keynote address at the College’s graduation ceremony, the Chairperson of the GAF Council commended the institution for introducing new disciplines and programs aimed at preparing officers to analyse global trends and anticipate conflicts.
“The introduction of the Multi-Domain Operations and Future Wars modules in the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College is timely, given the evolving nature of contemporary security threats,” she said.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang also acknowledged the updates to the curriculum, particularly in areas of digitisation and cybersecurity, noting that technology now plays a decisive role in shaping modern warfare.
“With the role that technology is now playing in shaping the trajectory of modern security operations in the battle space, digitisation awareness and cybersecurity issues are also welcome in the curriculum,” she added.
The Vice President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the College, stressing the importance of continuous innovation in defence education. Despite rising enrollment, she noted, the institution has managed to maintain high academic standards.
“The ability to make informed strategic decisions is essential in today’s complex security landscape,” she emphasised, underlining the value of training offered to future military leaders.
She congratulated the 135 graduating officers who pursued programmes in Defence, International Affairs, and Security Studies, encouraging them to remain adaptable, uphold integrity, and demonstrate leadership as they take on greater responsibilities.
