The Western Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Ndede Siah, has declared the region’s unwavering support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to become the party’s presidential candidate for the 2028 general elections.
Welcoming Dr. Bawumia to the region at the start of his campaign tour in Amenfi, Mr. Siah emphasized that the Western Region would play a decisive role in securing his victory, citing the strong backing the former Vice President continues to enjoy nationwide.
“On behalf of my people, I warmly welcome you and want to state that the Western Region is going to be part of the winning team. We want to uplift Dr. Bawumia and give him a resounding victory,” Mr. Siah said.
He commended Dr. Bawumia for his discipline and integrity throughout the campaign, describing him as a leader focused on issues and national progress rather than personal attacks or propaganda.
“It is unfortunate that lies and propaganda have taken centre stage in this campaign against one man,” he noted. “But the good thing is that he is not perturbed and has concentrated on his message, without responding to them. This has encouraged us to remain focused and to campaign vigorously for his victory.”
He further urged Dr. Bawumia to remain steadfast, saying, “We appreciate this and want to urge you to continue to stay focused.”
Dr. Bawumia wrapped up his Western Region campaign tour in Sekondi, where he received overwhelming support and endorsement from delegates across all constituencies, solidifying his influence within the party ahead of 2028.
