“Why do we keep putting old men at the helm of affairs?” – Johnny Hughes quizzes.

Yesterday, Ghanaians were shocked to hear that some armed robbers had daringly hit a bullion car, killed the police man and made away with the money. This brought back the question of why armored vehicles are not used to transport money.

According to checks the policeman killed had no helmet and bulletproof vest. It is important to know that once he sits in the car it will be difficult to adjust his Ak-47 in case he is faced with immediate danger.

Johnny Hughes who couldn’t comprehend what happened has this morning raised serious questions about security in the country. Today, Tuesday, June 15, 2021 on TV3’s ‘New Day’, Johnny queried the ages of some of Ghana’s big wigs in the security ministries

“Check the age of our IGP. He is gone past 60. Check the age of the Interior Minister. He is gone past 60. Check the age of our National Security Minister. He is gone past 60. Check the age of the National Security Coordinator. It is written all over them. We keep older people there and continue to give them contracts. Where did we get the appetite to put old men at the helm of affairs?

Everybody is sitting down watching. Ghana is not safe. I don’t feel safe. IGP what is happening? Mr President, what is happening? Mr Vice President, what is happening? Ambrose Dery, what is happening? Nitiwul, what is happening? Mr. Kan Dapaah, what is happening? I am not happy. We need to see you to do some real work. I am not happy with any of you. I’m sorry but I don’t feel protected. Good morning” Johnny said emotionally.
