A woman has been arrested by Police in Afram Plains South District of the Eastern Region for abandoning her baby at the Market.
The suspect abandoned the two-month-old baby boy on March 30, 2021, to a second-hand cloth seller -Samuel Badu under the pretense that she was going to ease herself on a public toilet at about 7:00am.
An hour later Samuel Badu accompanied by Esther Tsikata reported to Police that he came from Nkawkaw to sell his second-hand clothing but whilst there, an unknown lady brought about a 2month old male child to him under the pretense of attending nature’s call.
That he waited for a long time but the lady was not forthcoming and being suspicious of the lady’s conduct informed Police for action.
Subsequently, police prepared an extract, handed it to them for the information of the general public.
The two-month-old baby was given to Esther Tsikata who resides at Ekye Amanfrom for Temporal care.
Police investigation led to the arrest of the suspect on Friday.
It is yet to be made the public reason for her action.
