AdubianewsIn a heartfelt show of unity and sisterhood, the Women’s Caucus of Ghana’s Parliament paid a courtesy visit to Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang at Jubilee House on Friday, June 27, 2025.
The delegation, made up of female Members of Parliament from both the Majority and Minority benches, expressed their warm wishes and unwavering support for the Vice President following her recent return from an extended medical leave.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, who had been away from public duties since early April due to health concerns, returned to Ghana on May 22, 2025, after undergoing treatment both locally and in the United Kingdom. Her recovery was officially confirmed by Jubilee House, and she has since resumed her state duties, including high-profile appearances alongside President John Mahama.
The MPs’ visit underscored the importance of unity among Ghana’s women leaders, as well as a commitment to supporting female leadership at the highest level of government. Known for shattering glass ceilings as Ghana’s first female Vice President, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also previously served as Minister for Education and is highly regarded as a distinguished academic.
During the interaction, discussions centered on fostering bipartisan collaboration in Parliament, strengthening women’s voices in governance, and championing inclusive national development.
The Women’s Caucus’s visit not only reaffirmed their support for the Vice President but also celebrated her resilience and continuing contribution to Ghana’s leadership.
