Ghanaian dancehall superstar Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, well known as Shatta Wale, has expressed immense pride after witnessing a significant milestone on the Shaxi ride-hailing platform.
For the first time, Shaxi successfully completed 58 trips in a single day, marking a new record for the popular transportation service, which he launched in 2021.
Shatta Wale, who has been vocal about supporting local innovations, praised Shaxi for its growing impact on Ghana’s transport sector. He highlighted the platform’s role in offering convenient and affordable rides to commuters across the country.
In a video shared on Instagram, Shatta Wale opened up about Shaxi’s early struggles. He revealed that the business recorded very few trips in its initial stages. Despite the slow start, he remained hopeful and committed to its growth. The recent milestone, he said, shows that persistence is paying off.
“I’m so proud that three days ago I sw 58 trips on Shaxi and that was the first time I ever saw 58 trips made by Shaxi. Because, when we started, sometimes 2, 3, 4. Sometimes it looks like the drivers don’t even go out to work,” he said.
While showing a screenshot of the trips the hailing platform has made recently, Shatta Wale described the milestone as a miracle and deserves to be applauded by Ghanaians.
Shaxi continues to grow as a local alternative to other ride-hailing services, focusing on affordability, reliability, and job creation. As the platform gains momentum, Shatta Wale’s influence and commitment to youth empowerment remain central to its success.
