A market woman at the Goaso Market in the Ahafo Region has voiced her frustration over the rising cost of living and high unemployment affecting families across Ghana. She expressed concern that despite her children completing school with good certificates, they remain at home without jobs.
According to her, the economic situation has worsened in recent years. Prices of goods continue to climb, yet many Ghanaians struggle to afford them. She said her children are unable to support her because they are not earning an income, even though they are educated.
Comparing the current state of the economy to that under former President Akufo-Addo, she noted that life was more manageable during his administration. She believes many citizens, especially traders and low-income earners, are finding it harder to cope under the present government.
Her remarks reflect growing public discontent as inflation, joblessness, and economic pressure continue to dominate conversations in markets and communities nationwide. Calls for solutions to youth unemployment and price stability remain at the forefront of public concerns.
