AdubianewsResidents of the Atwima Mponua District in the Ashanti Region have commended President John Mahama for the swift completion of the Kotokuom Bridge, a long-neglected structure that once posed serious danger to lives and livelihoods.
The bridge, which connects several farming communities, had deteriorated over the years, making transportation unsafe and hindering economic activity. Its poor condition had become a major concern for residents, especially during the rainy season.
In response to growing community pressure and safety concerns, the government commenced reconstruction three months ago following a directive from the Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza. Today, the new structure stands completed, improving accessibility and restoring confidence among locals.
The project’s timely execution has sparked renewed support for President Mahama, with residents attributing the development to decisive leadership and a renewed focus on rural infrastructure.
Beyond easing movement, the completed bridge is expected to enhance trade, boost local agriculture, and ensure the safety of schoolchildren and commuters who rely on the route daily.
The successful delivery of the Kotokuom Bridge marks a significant milestone in efforts to upgrade critical infrastructure in the district. Residents are now calling for similar interventions across other underserved communities in the region.
