Kuami Eugene during Hitz FM interview discussing his Christian values as a secular musician

Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat artist Kuami Eugene is making it clear that his journey in secular music has not distanced him from his faith.

In a recent interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz show with Doreen Avio, the award-winning singer revealed that he remains committed to the things of God and continues to minister in his own way, even as a mainstream musician.

Speaking passionately during the segment, Kuami Eugene, born Eugene Kwame Marfo, stated that his love for God is unwavering, and his career in secular music does not mean he has abandoned his spiritual responsibilities.

He cited a recent incident that occurred during a video shoot in Afiadenyigba, a community in the Volta Region, where his faith led him to do more than just film. “We did evangelism in Afiadenyigba (Volta Region)”, he recalled.

According to the “Wish Me Well” crooner, his influence and platform as an artist allow him to touch lives even in ways that aren’t always visible to the public. He believes that one doesn’t need to stand on a church altar to preach the gospel.

Kuami Eugene also shared an interesting perspective on how he relates to gospel musicians in the industry. He revealed that he finds it very difficult to charge them for any collaborations or work-related requests.

His comments have sparked admiration from fans and industry stakeholders, many of whom see him as a bridge between the secular and the spiritual. Some listeners took to social media to praise him for his humility, spiritual discipline, and willingness to use his fame to share God’s message.

While Kuami Eugene continues to deliver hit songs and dominate the entertainment scene, his remarks underscore the complex relationship many Ghanaian artists have with faith and fame. His journey is a reflection of how some musicians strive to balance their careers with their Christian values.

As he looks ahead in his musical career, Kuami Eugene seems determined to let his light shine in both the studio and in spiritual spaces, proving that faith and secular success can co-exist.
