The Lawyer for Ghanaian footballer Thomas Partey, Jenny Wiltshire, has confirmed that her client has fully cooperated with UK authorities during a lengthy investigation into multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

Partey, who recently left Arsenal, has been officially charged by the London Metropolitan Police with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The alleged incidents are said to have occurred between 2021 and 2022.

According to Wiltshire, the midfielder has maintained consistent contact with investigators throughout the process and has done nothing to obstruct the ongoing inquiry. In a statement issued after the formal charges were announced, she affirmed that Partey has welcomed the opportunity to respond to the allegations in a legal setting.

“Thomas has fully cooperated with the police throughout their three-year investigation,” she said. “He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name. Given that there are now ongoing legal proceedings, my client is unable to comment further.”

The 31-year-old is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5, where the legal process will begin in earnest. With the case now officially in court, his legal team has urged the public and media to allow the judicial process to unfold without speculation or prejudice.

Partey, who has represented Ghana at multiple international tournaments and had a high-profile stint in the Premier League with Arsenal, has not made any public statements since the charges were filed.

His legal team’s response signals a clear strategy to fight the allegations through formal legal channels, while maintaining his right to silence in the court of public opinion. The developments come as the footballer navigates a critical period in both his personal life and professional career.
