AdubianewsGhana has achieved a significant step forward in its energy agenda with the completion of a major gas infrastructure upgrade by ENI, increasing the country’s daily gas output from 245 million to 270 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd). The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition confirmed the milestone in a statement released on Monday, July 14, 2025.
The upgrade is expected to enhance the reliability of energy supply and strengthen Ghana’s power generation capacity, aligning with broader national goals of energy security and sustainable economic growth. The added output offers a timely boost for both industry and households amid growing electricity demand.
The Ministry credited ENI and sector stakeholders for their role in delivering the upgrade and emphasized the importance of collaboration in meeting national energy targets. The government also acknowledged the public’s support and patience throughout the upgrade period, noting that continued cooperation remains vital to building a resilient and efficient energy sector.
Signed by Richmond Rockson, Esq., the Ministry’s Spokesperson and Head of Communication, the statement reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted access to dependable energy across the country. The Ministry framed the enhancement as more than a technical achievement; it is a foundational move toward national development, job creation, and industrial advancement.
