Kumasi Mayor Hon. Kwasi Ofori Agyemang Boadi, affectionately known as Zuba, is earning admiration from residents after he was seen stepping out of his official convoy to personally direct traffic in Ashtown, a busy suburb of Kumasi.
According to eyewitness accounts, the mayor was en route through the area when he noticed a growing traffic build-up. Rather than continue in his convoy, Zuba stopped, got out of his vehicle, and took control of the situation by manually directing vehicles to ease the congestion.
The narrator of the viral footage explained that traffic jams are a frequent issue along that stretch of road. However, thanks to the mayor’s direct intervention, vehicles began to move smoothly through the area.
“There’s always traffic here, but because of the mayor’s actions today, everything started flowing nicely,” the observer noted.
The mayor’s spontaneous action drew cheers and praise from onlookers and drivers alike, many of whom applauded his hands-on approach to leadership.
Videos of the moment have since circulated widely on social media, with Ghanaians commending Zuba for leading by example and showing a practical response to a common problem faced by many urban commuters.
The gesture has sparked fresh conversations about the need for public officials to remain connected to the everyday struggles of the people they serve.
