AdubianewsThe New Patriotic Party (NPP) has placed a sweeping ban on all campaign-related materials in the lead-up to its 2025 National Annual Delegates Conference, scheduled for Saturday, July 19, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
The decision, announced by Joseph Osei-Owusu, Chair of the National Planning Committee, is intended to maintain order and fairness during the high-profile event, which will draw thousands of party delegates from across the country.
“There shall be no billboards, banners, posters, flyers, T-shirts, or souvenirs with aspirant branding allowed at the venue or within Accra,” Mr Osei-Owusu stated during a press briefing on Saturday, July 12.
He clarified that the ban applies before, during, and after the conference, and includes the full perimeter of the event grounds. “A complete ban has been placed on all forms of campaign activities,” he stressed.
To enforce the directive, the NPP has deployed a grounds and operations team, working alongside a group of compliance monitors who will patrol the venue and surrounding areas.
“All such prohibited campaign materials shall be removed and destroyed by the team,” Mr Osei-Owusu cautioned, adding that the policy would be applied without exception.
Party officials say the measure is designed to promote a neutral environment, prevent factional displays, and help delegates focus on the key agenda of unity and forward planning.
As the party prepares for what is expected to be a pivotal moment in its internal reorganization and future strategy, the ban signals a strong commitment to discipline and fairness on the part of the leadership.
