Talented Ghanaian rapper Awal Mohammed has clarified that he was never officially signed to Sarkodie’s record label. Speaking during an interview on Hitz FM, the former Talented Kidz contestant shared insights about his connection with the celebrated rapper.
Awal explained that his encounter with Sarkodie was made possible through the organizers of TV3’s Talented Kidz, where he was known for performing the rapper’s songs. During the finals, Sarkodie was invited to perform alongside him to add excitement to the show.
Following the performance, Awal built a relationship with Sarkodie, which eventually led to a collaborative recording between the two. Although the rapper continued to support him in various ways, Awal confirmed that the support was not under any formal contract.
He expressed appreciation for the opportunities that came from their association, but emphasized that he was never officially signed to Sarkodie’s label, contrary to popular belief.
