AdubianewsMusic producer and Highly Spiritual Music CEO, Kaywa, has opened up about how he helped shape Lasmid’s early music career, despite the singer never officially signing to his label. Kaywa revealed that he made a significant investment in Lasmid, hoping to bring him onboard formally, but things didn’t go as planned.
In an interview on Afternoon Ride with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, Kaywa explained that Lasmid was signed to Highly Spiritual for a year. Even after the contract expired, Lasmid continued visiting the studio, expressing his desire to remain with the label. At the time, however, financial constraints made it difficult for Kaywa to take on another artist, as the existing ones were not in support due to limited resources.
Despite this, Kaywa still believed in Lasmid’s talent and decided to push his music behind the scenes. His goal was to help Lasmid achieve a hit song, which would make it easier to convince the rest of the label to welcome him officially. That strategy worked; the hit song came, but when it was time to finalize a new contract, negotiations dragged on, and the deal was never signed.
Looking back, Kaywa admitted that not formalizing their agreement was a costly mistake and one he doesn’t intend to repeat. While he’s genuinely happy for Lasmid’s success, the experience has shaped how he approaches business with upcoming artists going forward.
