AdubianewsThe Tema Community 1 District Police have arrested four men for allegedly possessing substances believed to be Indian hemp. The operation was carried out on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Community 1 Industrial Area following a police intelligence tip-off.
Police reports indicate that 315 compressed parcels of the suspected narcotic substance were uncovered during the raid. The parcels had been concealed inside the tyres of a truck with registration number GN 7291-16, which was intercepted and impounded as part of the operation.
The suspects, whose identities have not yet been disclosed, were taken into custody immediately after the seizure. According to the police, the men are currently assisting investigators with further inquiries into the case.
The Tema Community 1 District Police Command has since heightened surveillance across the municipality to clamp down on drug trafficking activities. Authorities believe the seizure represents a significant step in disrupting the distribution chain of narcotic substances within the area.
The suspects are expected to be arraigned once investigations are complete. Police have assured the public that they remain committed to combating illegal drug activities and urged residents to provide information that could lead to more arrests.
