Gospel musician Broda Sammy has challenged the notion that Christianity should be defined by sadness and sorrow. In an interview on Okay FM, he emphasized that worship should be a time of joy, excitement, and celebration, not a reflection of life’s struggles.
He pointed out that some Christians have mistakenly linked worship to sadness, letting challenges and hardships overshadow the happiness that should accompany praising God. According to him, this approach misrepresents the true spirit of Christianity.
Broda Sammy reminded believers that the Bible instructs us to rejoice in all circumstances. Worship, he said, is meant to uplift the spirit, strengthen faith, and draw believers closer to God through a heart filled with gratitude and happiness.
The gospel artist concluded by encouraging Christians to shift their perspective and embrace a more joyful approach to worship. For him, celebrating God with excitement is not only biblical but also essential for a fulfilling spiritual life.
