Bishop JY Adu has revealed a dramatic encounter between himself and the late Daddy Lumba, recalling a moment when the musician became upset with him despite receiving help during a difficult period.
According to the bishop, he was deeply involved in praying for the highlife legend after he became paralysed, a situation that had kept him from walking for three months.
Speaking in an interview with Fifi Pratt on Aluta FM, Bishop Adu explained that after intense prayers, Daddy Lumba miraculously walked for the first time in months. The bishop said he then advised Lumba to come to his church in Kumasi so he could continue the healing process to ensure full recovery. However, despite several assurances, Lumba never showed up.
Bishop Adu added that even after Lumba’s then-partner, Odo Broni, gave birth to their first child, the musician still failed to honour his commitment. This, according to him, seemed to strain their relationship, as Lumba later grew displeased with him over the matter.
The bishop described the entire situation as disappointing, especially given the effort he invested in helping the musician at a critical moment in his life. His revelation has sparked widespread discussion, with many reflecting on the mysterious and complicated friendships behind the scenes of Ghana’s entertainment industry.
