Ghana’s controversial dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr has been featured on New York Times Square.
Sharing the good news with his loyal fans and followers of Shatta Movement, elated Shatta Wale took to his Instagram handle and wrote:
“#ShattaWaleOnTimeSquare NY, helooooo Shatta Movement where are you 😂 🙌🏽🙌🏽 Big ups to the team @Beatbopper @SeanKontractor We making history together w/ #TropicalHouseCruisesToJamaica reggae album compilation 🔥 #AllOut #Dream 🇬🇭🇯🇲 🤟🏻”.
The reason for his feature on Times Square was to promote the Tropical House Cruises To Jamaica album of which he is the headline artistes.
The ‘Melissa’ latest appearance at New York Times Square probably makes him the just first Ghanaian musician but not the first Ghanaian personality.
Interestingly, the winner of TV3 Talented Kidz, DJ Switch has had the opportunity to get featured first before Shatta Wale.
Shatta Wale has joined the likes of Davido, Tiwa Savage who had the glory of being featured on New York Times Square.
